5N/6D Mesmerizing Meghalaya – Backpacking Tour

• Upon your arrival at Guwahati, you will be greeted by the operator’s representative. Start your journey to Shillong. En route, you will get to witness the beautiful sights of Umiam Lake. After reaching Shillong, check in at the hotel and relax for a while. In the evening, feel free to take a stroll in the nearby area or explore the local market. Have dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

• Start your day with a delicious breakfast and begin your journey to the next stop of this trip; Cherrapunji. Located at an altitude of 4,400 ft, it is the world’s 2nd wettest place. On your way, you will be visiting Elephanta Falls and Shillong Peak. This drive will be a memorable drive as you will encounter various waterfalls that lie ahead on the way to Cherrapunji. In the evening, visit the mystic caves of Mawsmai and head to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

• After having a delightful breakfast, put on your trekking shoes and get ready for a hike to one of the UNESCO world heritage sites – Double Decker Living Roots Bridge. If time allows you will get to visit Rainbow Falls also. Head back to Cherrapunji by evening and have dinner at the hotel. Retire in your room for the night.

• Rise and shine and put on your explorer hat! After having an early breakfast, step out for Cherrapunji sightseeing. Our pitstops for the day are two cave sites, the Nohkalkai waterfall and the majestic Seven Sisters Falls. Later, we will get on the road and head to Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village. Our last stop is Dawki, the secluded place with a riverbed and crystal-clear water to seduce you into nature’s lap. Check-in at the riverside camps, enjoy bonfire and dinner and sleep under the starry sky.

• Wake up to a chilling morning and have a hot-pipping breakfast. If you are feeling quirky, now is the time to enjoy some thrilling adventure activities like cliff jumping, kayaking, snorkelling and many more. It’s time to bid goodbye to Dawki and head back to Shillong. Spend the rest of your evening leisurely. You can explore the café or interact with the locals. Join the group for your last dinner of the trip and head to your rooms for a comfortable stay.

• After having breakfast, check out from the hotel and start your return journey to Guwahati with some unforgettable memories of your enchanting trip to Meghalaya.

If participants are unable or choose not to continue with the experience at the site, no refunds will be provided. To avoid any disruption to other travellers, the expedition will go ahead as scheduled, and participants will have to make their arrangements if they decide to prolong their stay.

Rescheduling is subject to availability.

Once the cancellation window ends, rescheduling cannot be done.

Each booking allows for a maximum of two rescheduling opportunities. After which, no further changes can be made to the booking.

Any price differences resulting from rescheduling, such as changes in seasonal rates or availability, will be applicable and will be communicated to the customer during the rescheduling process.

In the event that a customer requests a rescheduling but fails to attend the newly scheduled appointment, it will be considered a missed appointment, and our standard cancellation policy will apply

• The transportation during this trip will be provided based on the group size. The available options are Tempo Traveller /Toyota Innova /Mahindra Xylo / Scorpio. Since the route is a rough terrain, only the vehicles with high ground clearance are used here.

• There are no age or weight restrictions for this trip, but guests with medical conditions should consult with their doctor before visiting.

• The accommodations will be provided in standard Hotels / Guest houses and camps on a Single / Twin/ Triple sharing basis of your selection.

• Dinner from Day 1 to Day 5. Breakfast from Day 2 to Day 6 is included in the package.

• The local permits required will be arranged by our vendor partner however a valid ID proof, address proof and booking confirmation email are required.

• In case of extreme bad weather, government restriction or political disturbance, if any activity is cancelled; then the operator will suggest the best possible alternative. However, a cash refund is not applicable. In case of a change in itinerary due to weather, any additional expenses must be borne by the traveller.

• Each day you will be taking a drive for 5-6 hours and enjoying the surreal beauty of Meghalaya in all its glory.  

• Please note that if there are any changes to your airline or transportation schedule, your entire itinerary may need to be adjusted. Your operator will offer the best alternative options in such cases. However, it’s important to note that missed inclusions will not be refunded. Any extra costs associated with rearranging the itinerary will be the responsibility of the traveller.
